Question 3out of 10
Question 4out of 10
Question 5out of 10
Interest is calculated from the current balance each year, so in the second year it is also earned on the first year interest.
- Convert the annual percentage into a multiplier: 1 + percentage ÷ 100.
- Multiply the initial deposit by this multiplier once for the first year.
- Multiply the new balance by the same multiplier again for the second year.
Formula: final amount = initial deposit × (1 + annual percentage ÷ 100)².

Question 8out of 10
Question 9out of 10
In the second year, he harvested 40 % more than in the first year.
In the third year, he harvested 40 % more than in the second year.
Calculate how many kilograms of apples the farmer harvested in total over the three years.
Question 10out of 10
The discount is the part of the original price that must be subtracted.
- Divide the discount percentage by 100.
- Multiply the result by the original price to find the discount amount.
- Subtract the discount amount from the original price.
Formula: discounted price = original price × (1 − discount ÷ 100).
Time left: 00:00:00
Sample questions
- The regular price of the product is €___. Calculate the price of the product with a ___% discount.
- Calculate the area of the rectangle if one side is ___ cm and the other side is ___% longer.
- In the first year of harvest, the farmer harvested ___ kg of apples. In the second year, he harvested ___ % more than in the first year. In the third year, he harvested ___ % more than in the second year. Calculate how many kilograms of apples the farmer harvested in total over the three years.
- On the first day, ___% of the total distance was covered. On the second day, ___%. Calculate the percentage of the distance remaining to be covered.
- The annual compound interest on a fixed-term bank deposit is ___%. Calculate the amount that will accrue in two years if the initial deposit was ___ €.
Percentage problems
One percent is one hundredth of a whole. To find p% of a number, multiply by p/100. To find the whole from a known percentage part, divide the part by p/100.
Percentage change
For an increase or decrease, first calculate the amount of change and then add or subtract it. Check whether the question asks for the change itself or the new final value.
