For a two-digit multiplier, the first row multiplies by ones and the second by tens. Shift the second row one column left, then add both rows.
“Older than” means the age must be above the stated limit. The limit age itself is not allowed.
Add 1 to find the smallest whole-number age allowed. For example, someone older than 18 must be at least 19 when age is counted in whole years.
A discount reduces the price. First find the discount amount: divide the original price by 100 and multiply by the discount percentage.
Then subtract the discount from the original price. For example, 25% off €40 means a discount of €10 and a new price of 40 − 10 = €30.
A line of symmetry divides a shape into mirrored halves. Imagine folding along a possible line: the two sides must match.
With only addition and subtraction, work from left to right. Subtract the second number from the first, then add the third.
For example, 350 − 120 + 40 = 230 + 40 = 270. Do not add the second and third numbers before subtracting.
Find the starting column and row. Moving right changes the column; moving down changes the row. Count transitions between cells.
Use the tens digit. If it is below 5, choose the lower multiple of 100; if it is 5 or more, choose the higher multiple. The last two digits become zeros.
Find the shortfall and divide by the weekly savings. If any shortfall remains, allow one more full week.
One day is 24 hours. Multiply the number of days by 24, then add the remaining hours.

This complete Grade 4 mathematics test helps students review the main school topics in one mixed set of tasks. Questions are selected from different tests for this grade, so each attempt can be different.
Choose a 15, 30, 45 or 60 minute test. A longer duration creates a larger task set covering calculation, word problems, geometry and other topics studied in the grade.
A full grade test is useful for independent checking, revision before a class assessment or mathematics exam preparation. Work at your own pace, review the result and try again: dynamic questions help students learn methods instead of memorising previous answers.
This test develops calculation of the area of a right triangle using the product of its perpendicular sides. Students identify the base and height, apply the formula, find missing dimensions and express answers in square units.
This test develops reading, forming and solving simple and compound inequalities. Students use greater-than, less-than and equality signs, compare numbers, test possible variable values and write an appropriate solution.
Practise long multiplication and division step by step: calculate partial products, divide with a remainder and check your result.
Explore numbers up to one million: place value, comparison, reading and rounding. Visual place-value charts and number lines support each step.
