The oblique segment projects onto the segment joining the two feet. Apply the converse three-perpendiculars theorem when asked about l and the projection. For the triangle angle, use the right angle at the perpendicular foot and the triangle angle sum.
Eliminate lines that intersect or are parallel to the given line. A skew line is not coplanar with it.
Translate one line parallel to itself into the plane of the other. Find the top-face diagonal and use the cosine ratio in a right triangle.
Check both requirements: the endpoints lie on the specified lines and the segment is perpendicular to both. Perpendicularity to only one line is insufficient.
Recover the height using the squared space-diagonal formula. Identify the vertical edge joining both lines perpendicularly. Its length is the required distance.
Identify the projection of a segment from S to a rectangle vertex. Use the three-perpendiculars theorem to find the oblique segment perpendicular to the specified line, then apply Pythagoras. Not every given length is needed.

Six dynamic advanced-course tasks on line positions, distances, angles and applying the three-perpendiculars theorem.
Extrema, inflection, derivative signs and optimization of geometric and exponential models.
This test uses the first derivative to analyse a function. Tasks include finding critical points, intervals of increase and decrease, local extrema and absolute maximum or minimum values.
This test introduces the derivative as a rate of change and applies the basic rules of differentiation. Tasks cover derivatives of constant, power, linear and quadratic functions.
This test develops geometric reasoning and calculations with prisms and pyramids. Students find volume, lateral and total surface area, altitude and edges and analyse diagonal cross-sections.
