Geometric shapes
Basic plane shapes include the circle, triangle, square and rectangle. A triangle has 3 straight sides and 3 corners, while a square and rectangle each have 4 sides and 4 corners.
How to distinguish them
Every side of a square has equal length. A rectangle commonly has two long and two short opposite sides. A circle has no straight sides and no corners. Recognise a shape by its properties even when it is rotated or shown in another colour or size.
