Sample questions

  1. A category represents ___% of a pie chart. What is the angle of its sector?
  2. A sector of a pie chart has angle ___°. What percentage of all data does it represent?
  3. A survey included ___ students. In the pie chart, ___% chose answer A. How many students chose A?
  4. Out of ___ respondents, ___ chose answer B. What percentage is this?
  5. Which category has the largest share in the pie chart?___

Pie charts and samples

A complete pie chart represents 360° and 100%. Find a sector angle by multiplying the percentage by 360°/100; find a percentage by dividing the sector angle by 360° and multiplying by 100.

Reliable samples

A sample should represent the complete population. A convenient, very small or single-group sample may be biased. Percentages of all sectors in a pie chart must total 100%.
